Welcome To A World Of Comfort For Your Precious Pregnancies.

Dear mums-to-be.  Please read these notes carefully before you make a decision.  Here in Singapore we seldom have more than 3 children in general. So babies in Singapore are basically very precious and every parent wants the best for their children I am sure.

If you notice in western countries, therapists, doctors and nurse-midwives promotes pre-natal massages to expecting mums from the 2nd trimester onwards until delivery but very few post-natal packages are available instead.  Why?  The pre-natal massage actually benefits mother and baby whereas the post-natal massages are only for the mothers.

Massage starts from the 3rd month onwards and GWT carries through until birth.

We do not have a package for the pre-natal sessions, which is the same for the rest of the massages offered at Golden Wellness Therapeutic except for post-natal as we believe customers have the right to choose either to come or not and must come freely at their own time and at their own comfort.  In order to benefit for the below goodness Golden Wellness Therapeutic advises customers to come regularly.  If you have more pain than others you do not need to stick to the above guidelines but please feel free to call us and the therapist attending to you will be able to answer your questions no matter what they are.

                                                                Questions and Answers

1.     How many days must I book the service in advance?

One or two working days in advance is sufficient.

2.     Do I have to sign for any package?

No package is available.  You pay for each session that you come for.

3.     Is the massage painful?

Not at all except for the areas that you are already sore but once relieved you should be ok. Each massage session
        should see your pain deteriorating.

4.     How long is the session for each visit.

It is 45mins only as we cannot move too much of lymphatic fluid and toxins.

5.     If I have got swollen feet from water retention can it go away after the massage?

No.  The massage is only to relieve you of the pain if there is any and to reduce the amount of water retention (edema).  The water retention is caused by the pregnancy and no amount of massage can get rid of it totally.  Massage only assist in reducing edema.

6.     Can it help with lower back pain or any type of backache, shoulderache, neckache etc?

Yes, it will help all your aches and pain felt on the back when we do a deep tissue therapy to relieve trigger points combined with the traditional therapy.

7.      Will my breast be massaged during the session?

Yes, for every session that you come we will do the breast massage to relax the underlying muscles of the breast for you and on the 8th month (week 35) we will teach you a breast massage technique for free for you to perform at home from the 8th month onwards.  This is especially important for first time mothers as there might be a chance of getting serious breast engorgement problems after birth.  The massage taught and if performed correctly helps the clostrum (day 1-5) to be out smoothly then followed by the breast milk and in anycase if you do encounter breast engorgement then at least you will know how to deal with it until the therapist arrives for your post-natal massage.

8.      Do I have to lie on my stomach?

No.  All massages will be done in the Sidelying postion as there are lots of advantages to it and it will not harm baby and mother but give maximum security and comfort throughout their pregnancies instead.

9.      Will my stomach be massaged during the session?

For precaution measures we will not massage the tummy at any of our sessions.  This is to give more confidence for the mums-to-be who are attending our pre-natal sessions. (But by the way if you do need your tummy to be massaged please inform the therapist before the massage session begins for time allocation).

10.    Will my feet be massaged?

We will also not massage the feet as it corresponds with a lot of internal organs in the body and can be harmful to the foetus.

11.     Is this a full body massage?

Yes it is a full body massage excluding only the tummy and the feet.

12.     Do I have to tell the therapist if I have hypertension, diabetes etc..?

Yes, it is very crucial that you tell the therapist your body condition or any problems that you are facing from your pregnancy before the massage starts so as to give you the best care and concern.
